Avionics Systems Integration: A Leap Towards Sovereign Capability

20 May 2025, Langkawi – G7 Aerospace made headlines at LIMA 2025 with the debut of its cockpit integration bench, displayed at the MIGHT Pavilion and drawing the attention of the Prime Minister. This marks a major step for Malaysia’s aerospace sector into high-value, system-level avionics integration.

According to CEO Datuk Rosdi Mahmud, G7 is developing a new digital cockpit system for the RMAF’s PC-7 Mk II trainer aircraft, addressing the fleet’s avionics obsolescence.

The project is supported by a technology partnership with Türkiye’s Aselsan, enabling faster integration and local capability building. A renewed Teaming Agreement with Aselsan also signed during LIMA to strengthen this collaboration.

The initiative aligns with the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 and could be recognized as a National Strategic Project under the Malaysia-Türkiye defence cooperation framework. The avionics upgrade market is projected to exceed RM1.5 billion over the next decade, potentially creating over 150 high-income engineering and technical jobs in Malaysia.
