Our Journey

Breaking New Ground: The Remarkable Journey of G7 Aerospace

YEAR 2010

G7 Aerospace humble beginning started as a small five-man company located in Cyberjaya, Selangor acting as Direct Procurement Agreement (DPA) agent for Rosebank Engineering, Australia.

YEAR 2014

The determination to grow led the company to secure Supply DPA with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) for Stahlwille Common & Special Tools.

YEAR 2016

Following RMAF and Army Air Wing (PUTD) call for local solution to mitigate their avionics obsolescence, the company invested to setup an Avionics Workshop and obtained the necessary Approvals & Certifications to penetrate the local defence MRO market. Since then, G7 Aerospace became one of the main players that provides its services via Proof of Concept (POC) scheme.

YEAR 2019

From here onwards, G7 Aerospace started to win several Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) open tenders for provision of depot level maintenance (DLM) of avionics components and aircraft ground support equipment (AGSE) as well as supply of non-proprietary aircraft spare parts for RMAF, PUTD and Navy Air Wing.

To cater for the increasing workload, the company invested by acquiring its own building for its Melaka facility at Krubong Industrial Park to mainly serve its southern customer (PUTD) and rented facility at Lumut, Perak to serve the Navy.

YEAR 2021

G7 Aerospace begin involving in aircraft MRO as one of the partners of Rosebank Engineering who was contracted to undertake RMAF F/A-18D Local Planned Maintenance 12 Years (LPM12Y) in Butterworth, Penang. Whilst “on-aircraft” MRO activities are undertaken in Penang, “off-aircraft” components MRO are carried out in both Cyberjaya and Melaka facilities.

To value add to LPM12Y, G7 Aerospace established its own NDT capability and design office to produce AGSEs to ease on-aircraft maintenance tasks. These locally designed AGSEs are now registered in NATO product catalogue registered by the Malaysian Armed Forces Cataloguing Agency (MAFCA) of the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia.

YEAR 2023

Continuing its growth momentum in moving up the value chain, G7 Aerospace involvement in systems integration became its core business after winning the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) open tenders for design and development of 200 kg Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) and 8 kg VTOL UAV worth more than RM13 million.

The contracted R&T activity has also driven the company to strengthen its enabling design and engineering competencies especially in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Sustainment Engineering. The company’s unmanned system portfolio is further expanded following its appointment as local partner to Turkish Aerospace for the delivery and support of RMAF ANKA Unmanned Aerial System.

YEAR 2024

As the company grows, the Cyberjaya head office can no longer accommodate the increasing number of personnel and workload. Another major investment was made to acquire a new two-story building (with a mezzanine floor) as its new home for G7 Aerospace head office in Serenia City.

This facility not only has sufficient floor space to house all G7 Aerospace activities planned for the future, but also provide a comfortable working environment of its multi-discipline, highly dedicated and motivated workforce.

ONGOING

Based on G7 Aerospace growth trend in terms of technological and intellectual value add, the company is clear in terms of its flight path towards the future. Aligning with the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 recommendations, the company is on route towards achieving the desired end-state of sovereign capability in systems integration.

This high value-added activity requires further investments in System Integration Laboratory (SIL), Automatic Testing Equipment (ATE) and Test Program Sets (TPS) technologies.G7 Aerospace anticipates that with sovereign capability in systems integration, the company contributes to the nations’ aspiration of defence self-reliant as well as creating more high-income job opportunities.
